Hi!
I'm Richard, it's great to meet you...
As a UX Researcher, as well as in my former career in IT, a long with my rapport building and coaching skills, I am known for my great communication skills, asking the right question, being people-centred and thinking creatively.
I love developing and using my UX skills to help organisations and companies improve their products (apps, websites, and even TV interfaces) using my wide range of UX research skills.
I've been fortunate to have worked with many great people over the years. I am at my best when working with people who want to work hard but enjoy having some fun along the way.
In my free time, I enjoy exploring, both close to home and further afield, ideally combining that with good food and my long-held love of photography! If I really want to relax and get into flow, I'll build a Lego Architecture kit, ideally of places I've previously visited on my travels...
I love volunteering. During the year you can find me actively involved in my choir (West End Musical Choir) and also each summer helping visitors (and often locals!) get the most out of my great city as a Team London Ambassador.

A picture's worth a thousand words...
I'm fascinated by how images can be a visual diary, can trigger memories and spark the imagination.
Here are few of mine...
My Timeline Highlights
Some of the key dates on my journey...
2023 & 2024
Certified Professional in UX
I'm proud to have continued my development, successfully completing the training and examinations to gain my Certified Professional for Usability & UX - Foundation Level (CPUX-F, 2023) and then the advanced CPUX for Usability Testing and Evaluation - Theory (CPUX-UT, 2024).
2021
UX Consultant
I'm so happy everyday that I have been able to continue to grow and refine my UX skills in my role at Bunnyfoot. Here I am privileged to work with both amazing colleagues and clients. I've honed my skills and particularly enjoy focusing on UX research, and teaching the public Usability Testing course.
2020
User Experience Designer
Realising a career in UX was what I was meant to be doing, it was time for a career pivot! An intense and exciting 12-week remote User Experience Design Immersive with General Assembly London gave me an amazing foundation to start my next highlights.
2019
Executive Coach
After 18 months of training, I became a coach enabling me to support my colleagues at the John Lewis Partnership to work through any challenges or issues they faced, work-related or not.
2017
Travelling & Exploring
In recognition of long service, I was granted the once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to have a 6-month paid sabbatical. With my partner, we travelled to 17 countries/territories, enjoying our adventures from trekking to Machu Picchu to diving at the Great Barrier Reef.
2013
Master's in Psychology
Over 4 years, after my full-time day job, I attended lectures and seminars to complete my long term ambition of studying Psychology, culminating in my qualitative research dissertation.
2012
Team London Ambassador
London 2012 was a very special time for me and my city. Training to be a Team London Ambassador was a great volunteering experience that allowed me to be part of it. I've carried on volunteering most years since.
1991
Bachelor's in Computer Science
As I'd enjoyed the very early days of home computing, and with a love of all things technical, Computer Science was a natural choice and it got me into my IT career!
Have you seen my work?
I work with many very big name clients who value the skills, expertise, and insights I provide to them, however, due to professional confidentiality, I am not able to share details of my work with them.
However, here are a couple of examples of work from my initial training with General Assembly...
